Strawberry Oatmeal Spinach Banana Smoothie Recipe

By Donat a/k/a The Vegan Hubby

I like nice hearty but delicious smoothies. A lot. Mainly because they have more calories and actually fill me up instead of just leaving a pleasant taste in my mouth. So I devised this little concoction for a scrumptious and satisfying smoothie. Serves about 4 people, or 1 of me.

1 Cup old fashioned oats
2 Tbsp. flax seeds
½ Packet of tofu
2 Cups fresh spinach
1 peeled banana
1 Tbsp. fresh ginger
1 ½ Cups frozen strawberries
1 Cup of ice
2 Cups water or almond milk

Add all of the ingredients in the order listed above and blend until you get a rich, creamy consistency. There is definitely wiggle room with this recipe so you can easily remove a couple of the ingredients to your liking and edit the quantities to best suit your needs. Depending on your blender and what it can handle, you may have to add these ingredients a couple at a time, however, I have even had success just using an immersion blender to make a good smoothie with these ingredients. Hope you like it!
