Walmart Baby Box Subscription – Second Trimester Review (October 2014)

Walmart Baby Box - Second Trimester

At 25 weeks, I’m nearing the homestretch of my second trimester and getting a little over-excited for all things baby so I was super excited to receive my Walmart Baby Box – Second Trimester in the mail this week.

How It Works:

The Walmart Baby Box is a FREE subscription box for Mama’s-to-be (you do pay $5 shipping each time).  Boxes ship every 3 months – one for each stage of pregnancy and babyhood. You can choose a boy, girl, or unisex box. I chose the gender neutral box. Is it worth the shipping costs? Read on to find out!

What’s In the Box:

  • NUK Orthodontic Pacifier (0-6 months)
  • ALL laundry detergent and dryer sheet samples (Free & Clear)
  • Lansinoh breast milk storage bags and nursing pad samples
  • Pampers sensitive wipes and newborn diaper sample in diaper pouch
  • Assorted coupons (NUK, Little Remedies, Dreft, etc.)

Box Review:

  • NUK Orthodontic Pacifier (0-6 months)
    • I was pleasantly surprised with this item — the nipple is made of silicone and it is BPA free. The duck design will work well for either gender. We’ll keep this on hand as a backup pacifier.
  • ALL laundry detergent and dryer sheet samples (Free & Clear)
    • Being the eco-nuts that we are, we don’t use dryer sheets and we use a SmartKlean non-detergent laundry ball for our wash so no laundry detergent either. I’ll either keep these on hand for really big messes (like when my husband uses my kitchen towels working on the car…) or pass along to a family member.
  • Lansinoh breast milk storage bags and nursing pad samples
    • Good to have on hand for travel. We will be using glass storage when I pump and I plan to get reusable nursing pads (more eco- and wallet-friendly) but I could see us using these on the go.
  • Pampers sensitive wipes and newborn diaper sample in diaper pouch
    • You can never have too many diapers! We’re cloth diapering but I do want a few disposable options around for when we travel or in a pinch at home.
  • Assorted coupons (NUK, Little Remedies, Dreft, etc.)
    • To be honest, I probably won’t use any of these coupons but I will pass along to someone who can.

Final Thoughts:

I will keep getting this box! At $5 shipping every three months, it’s a fun surprise and you never know what could be in there. The samples are easy to pass on if I won’t use them and the chance of discovering something I’ll love is worth the low cost to me. Stay tuned for the third trimester box review in a few months!

What do you think of the box? Would you subscribe as a new mom or mama-to-be?
